Heine Discusses Economic Impacts of Chile’s Constitutional Vote
In an interview on Claro TV‘s “Impacto Económico,” Ambassador Jorge Heine, Research Professor at Boston University’s Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies, discusses the economic impact of Chile’s failed constitutional vote, which took place on September 4, 2022.
Heine argues that the reaction of markets has been mixed so far, as an initial surge of the stock market and the peso was later followed by a fall of both. He conveyed that, although the fundamentals of the Chilean economy are sound, it is going through a bad moment with projections indicating it may have negative growth in 2023.
