
Amy O’Leary
Part-Time Instructor
Amy O’Leary serves on the adjunct faculty in the Teaching & Learning Department of the Boston University Wheelock College of Education & 人类发展. She started teaching at BU Wheelock in 2006 and has taught Advancing Communication and Collaboration, Seminar in Policy, Advocacy and Leadership in Early Childhood Education and Field Experience & Seminar in Early Childhood Leadership, Policy, and Advocacy.
Ms. O’Leary is also the executive director of Strategies for Children (SFC), an advocacy and policy organization that works to ensure that Massachusetts invests the resources needed for all children, from birth to age five, to access high-quality early education and care programs. She joined SFC in 2002 and has served in many roles over the last two decades. Before that, she worked as a preschool teacher and program director at Ellis Early Learning in the South End of Boston.
Ms. O’Leary was elected twice to serve on the Governing Board of the National Association for the Education of Young Children, including serving as president from June 2018–2020. She is a member of the Massachusetts Kids Count Advisory Council and the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care Advisory Committee and serves on the board of directors of the Children’s Investment Fund and Ellis Early Learning in Boston.
