Undergraduate Students Honored for Scholastic Achievements
This spring, three undergraduate students from Boston University Wheelock College of Education & 人类发展 were honored as recipients of three academic achievement awards: the Currier Award in Achievement in Science Education, the Dean’s Academic Excellence Award, and the Peter Foukal Achievement in Math and Science Award. Congratulations to these outstanding awardees!
Currier Award in Achievement in Science Education: Shareen Alsebai
This annual award is given to a deserving female student in her third or fourth academic year who demonstrates scholastic achievement in the field of science education.
Shareen Alsebai pursues a dual degree at Boston University: a bachelor of science in science education at BU Wheelock and a bachelor of arts in chemistry in the College of Arts & Sciences.
Dean’s Academic Excellence Award: Nyssa Sconsoni
This award is given annually to a graduating senior to acknowledge and honor outstanding academic achievement during their attendance at BU Wheelock.
Nyssa Sconsoni double majored in elementary education and math for teaching. She says two of her biggest passions in life include studying all branches of mathematics, from fractions to fractals, and helping children grow and learn through meaningful educational experiences.
Peter Foukal Achievement in Math and Science Award: Rebecca Yakubovich
This award is given to a senior who has achieved academic excellence in math or science.
Rebecca Yakubovich is a senior studying math education. Her experiences at Boston University have shaped her as an educator, and she is excited to begin her career as a high school math teacher.
