Globus is a platform for high-speed data transfers. It provides a convenient way to transfer between two file systems such centralized storage services like the Shared Data Collection Service, the Shared Computing Cluster (SCC), your desktop/laptop, cloud services like Google Drive, Dropbox, and other research clusters.
BU Globus Subscription
BU’s Globus subscription covers the following services:
- Create and administer Personal Collections on any device (Windows, Mac, Linux).
- Administer a Globus Endpoint on your own Linux server.
- Transfer management and reports.
- Metadata indexing and file search.
- HTTPS access (uploading and downloading files through a web browser).
Limitations
There are no limits on the quantity of data that you may transfer under our subscription. Limits imposed by underlying storage systems may apply, including storage quotas, data classification restrictions, and network connections. At this time, BU’s Globus subscription does not support the transferring or sharing of Restricted Use data.
