Space Planning, through the FM Interact application, forms a single official source of facilities and buildings space data and helps to improve data quality, improves interface and reporting capabilities, and streamlines project delivery through a vendor hosted (cloud-based) solution. Information contained and administered within FM Interact includes such things as building & rooms data, room purpose, capacity, blueprints, and more.
Key Features
In addition to being a single source of facilities and buildings data across both BU campuses, the Space Planning FM Interact application is also integrated with BUworks (SAP) data and enables a simpler process for Space Survey work by keeping data integrated and aligned with financial, organizational, and budget/funding data in the BUworks SAP system. Additionally, Space Management intends to conduct annual surveys of all space and ad-hoc changes to occupancy information for moves, terminations, etc., further increasing the accuracy of the data. Real-time integration of changes to DWG (blueprint) files with FMI (via AutoCAD plugin) allows for a more streamlined process for maintaining space data and eliminates the need for manual transfer of space attribute data that originates from changes to DWG e.g. room number, dimensions, etc.
Requirements
You must have role-based and budgetary authority to access or update space management data on behalf of a department, school, or program.
