Description of Impact
Clients using O365 were unable to receive inbound mail sent from outside of O365. Inbound mail to non-O365 services such as BU Google Mail or departmental mail servers was not impacted. Outbound mail sent from O365 was not impacted. Mail sent within O365 to another O365 mailbox was not impacted.
Incident Description and Resolution
IS&T teams have resolved the incident.
Additional Information
IS&T teams have identified the cause of this incident to be an issue with a digital certificate on the on campus Exchange infrastructure which expired at midnight on January 5. The certificate was updated to resolve the incident. Inbound mail was queued between midnight and 12:10 p.m. and is in the process of being delivered.
