My name is Jungyoon, but I go by Yoon, and I’m a first-year Master of Public Health student specializing in Epidemiology and Biostatistics. I’m thrilled to be a part of GHSO and look forward to contributing to the creation of an inclusive and dynamic environment that reflects the diverse interests and expertise of our MPH student body. I aim to build a vibrant community where students from all functional and context certificates can connect, collaborate, and contribute to advancing global health while fostering friendships through engaging and enjoyable events. In my free time, I enjoy dancing salsa and bachata, exploring diverse cultural cuisines, and biking around the city!

Mai Hussein is a student in the Master of Public Health with Epidemiology and Biostatistics concentration at Boston University School of Public Health (BUSPH). She is also a Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion fellow at BUSPH.

Mai received her dental degree from the Faculty of Dentistry, Alexandria University, Egypt. She completed a post-graduate Egyptian fellowship in family dentistry and the Conservative and Endodontic sub-specialties. Mai earned a Master of Medical Sciences in Clinical Investigation (MMSCI) from Harvard Medical School. She earned clinical research training through the Egypt Clinical Scholars Research Training (CSRT) Program and leadership training through the Executive Leadership for Medical Educators and Department Chiefs (ELMERDC) program. Both were offered by Harvard Medical School.

Mai worked as a Director of Clinical Research Administration affiliated with the Egyptian Ministry of Health and Population, a Lecturer at the Central Directorate for Research and Health Development in the Egyptian Training and Research Sector, and a Teaching Assistant in the Master of Healthcare Quality and Safety for Patient Engagement course at Harvard Medical School.

Her primary research interest is in health equity. She aims to address social determinants of health, advocate for marginalized populations, and promote equitable healthcare practices and policies. Also, she is passionate about reproducing professional and standardized research practices, using the accumulation of individual clinical research as the key that the government can use to improve patient’s quality of life and handle major public health challenges.

I am an MPH candidate at Boston University School of Public Health with a concentration in Epidemiology and Biostatistics. I graduated from University of California, Irvine this past summer with a bachelor’s degree in Microbiology and Immunology along with a minor in Medical Anthropology. I was born and raised in Southern California and am excited to embark on this journey on the East Coast! I am looking forward to being a part of GHSO and collaborating with like-minded peers who share a passion for addressing global public health challenges. In my free time, I enjoy painting, reading and spending time with friends & family.

 

Gerardo Rodriguez is a student in the Master of Public Health program at the Boston University School of Public Health (BUSPH) with a dual concentration in Epidemiology and Biostatics and Global Health Program Design, Monitoring, and Evaluation. Gerardo received his bachelor’s degree in Health Science from Boston University. Postgrad he worked as a community engagement research assistant for the MEMCARE Superfund Research Center at the CEC at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. His primary research interests center around racial health equity and social justice.
