Free Associations: Outdoor Light Pollution and Alzheimer’s disease.

Outdoor Light Pollution and Alzheimer’s disease
The award-winning “Free Associations” podcast returns with a discussion on nighttime ambient light and risk of Alzheimer’s disease, predatory conferences, and a rehabilitated beaver who received a gubernatorial reprieve.
In a new format for the “Free Associations” podcast, we split our usual podcast into two bite-sized morsels. In the first segment, Jess, Matt and guest host Salma discuss an article that examines the effect of nighttime ambient light on risk of Alzheimer’s disease.

Free Associations
In the second segment, Jess, Matt and Salma discuss what attending a predatory conference is like and Salma explains why we should (or maybe shouldn’t) care about a rehabilitated beaver.

Free Associations
In other great news, “Free Associations” was selected as a finalist for the 4th Annual Anthem Awards, which celebrate mission-driven work with social impact and are presented by the International Academy of Digital Arts & Sciences, organizers of the Webby Awards. Voting for finalists is open until October 31!
