Data Coordinating Center Moves into Fuller Building.
The School of Public Health’s Data Coordinating Center (DCC) has moved into the Dr. Solomon Carter Fuller Mental Health Center building on the east side of the Medical Campus.
The ninth floor of the building, named for the Liberian-born psychiatrist and pioneer of Alzheimer’s research, has been completely refurbished for the School’s team of statistical programmers, database programmers, and data managers.
“We’ve really done our best,” says Sally Dwyer, operations manager for SPH Finances and Administration. “The space has been completely made over. You wouldn’t believe the difference.
“All new furniture, all new flooring, all new lights. All the latest and greatest.”
Based on feedback from the team, Dwyer says the floor has been set up to foster the kind of collaboration that’s already a big part of the DCC culture, including extra seating throughout the four suites and in the kitchen.
The view, she notes, also can’t be beat: the east windows show downtown, and the west look down on Talbot and the green.
“It looks great,” says Susan Gomes, assistant director of administration for the DCC. “We have a fresh new space.”
