In 2024, 94% of students across all degree programs at the School of Public Health received funding in the forms offellowships,scholarships,loans, ortuition remission.
In 2025, 100% of students accepted into the single on-campusMPH or MS degree programs will be guaranteed scholarship aid, which includes the Access Grant Award. You will also beautomatically considered for additional scholarships. There is no additional application, and you will be notified about your total award in your acceptance letter.

Additional BUSPH scholarship opportunities
Dual Degree Scholarship
Students who are accepted into an approved dual degree program at BUSPH are invited to apply for the Dual Degree Scholarship. Eligible applicants* are in residence at BUSPH, or will be in residence starting in the Fall semester at the time of their application and in good academic standing. Students interested in the Dual Degree Scholarship must submit a one-page statement of interest describing how they will combine their dual degrees to address public health problems. Please send the statement to: asksph@bu.edu.

*MBA/MPH and MSW/MPH candidates are not eligible for this award. MSW/MPH students are awarded a 10% tuition discount at time of acceptance that will be awarded when in residence at SPH.

BUSPH Select Scholars program is a network of leading undergraduate institutions that creates educational opportunities for outstanding undergraduates with an interest in public health. Accepted students from Select Scholars institutions are eligible for 50% scholarship applied to their on-campus, single degree program tuition. Boston University Women’s Council Scholarships
The BU Women’s Council provides scholarships to qualified women graduate students enrolled in a full-time degree program in any of the schools or colleges within Boston University. Applicants must have completed one year of their graduate studies and anticipate completing their master’s degree within two years or a doctoral degree within five years. Foreign Language Area Studies (FLAS) Fellowship
The African Studies Center at Boston University offers a program of instruction in African languages. Hausa, Xhousa, Zulu, Wolof, Swahili, Arabic, and Pulaar are regularly offered languages. Any full-time Boston University graduate student who is an American citizen or a US permanent resident is able to apply for a Foreign Language Area Studies Fellowship through the African Studies Center. Fellows must study an African language while pursuing graduate studies at Boston University in order to be eligible for the FLAS Fellowship. Awards may include full- or partial-tuition funding as well as a stipend. Applications are available on the center’s website and are due

Martin Luther King, Jr. Fellowship
Nominees for the Martin Luther King, Jr. Fellowship must be United States citizens who are beginning full-time graduate studies in any department or school of the University, and who are committed to the principles of social justice espoused by Dr. King. This award provides a stipend for living expenses, a scholarship for up to three years, BU health insurance, and student fees. Students are nominated by the SPH Admissions Department. The nomination deadline for the Martin Luther King, Jr. Fellowship program is typically
February 15 of each year. Applicants to SPH must have been accepted prior to this date in order to be nominated. For more information, visit the
