Aural Rehabilitation Services
The Boston University Academic Speech, Language & Hearing Center provides aural rehabilitation evaluations and services for deaf and hard of hearing individuals as part of the clinical training program for master’s students in the Department of Speech, Language & Hearing Sciences. These services include:
- Individual adult evaluations and therapy
- Auditory training
- Communication strategies training
- Speechreading training
Services are provided by graduate students and closely monitored by a Boston University faculty member who is a licensed speech pathologist or audiologist.
Evaluations
Clients receive a comprehensive evaluation that includes, as appropriate, assessment of speech production as well as auditory and speech reading skills. Clients also receive an extensive written report with detailed recommendations.
Treatment and Schedule
Clients commit to weekly individual sessions throughout the academic semester, which runs 10-12 weeks.
