How to Apply

Boston University’s combined MS in Speech-Language Pathology/PhD in Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences program follows a holistic application review process. This means that we review the whole applicant and take into consideration each component of an application including an applicant’s academic abilities, unique experiences, what they would contribute to the learning environment as well as the professional field and more.

The application cycle is closed for Fall 2025.

To apply to Boston University’s combined MS/PhD program, please submit an application through the Communication Sciences and Disorders Centralized Application Service (CSDCAS). All credentials and application materials are processed through CSDCAS. Please do not send any application materials to BU. To begin, follow these steps:

  • Review our application requirements below
  • Familiarize yourself with the instructions in the CSDCAS Applicant Help Center
  • Note: There is not a separate application for the combined MS/PhD program within CSDCAS. Applicants should complete an MS application. However, within the MS application, you will be asked if you want to be considered for the combined MS/PhD track. Begin your CSDCAS application
