Captain Jack Houdeshell, a native of Iowa, received a NROTC scholarship after completing the BOOST program. He graduated from the University of Idaho in 1993 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Applied Mathematics.

Prior to reporting to the Boston Consortium NROTC as the Professor of Naval Science, he previously served ashore as Submarine Officer Advanced Course Director at Naval Submarine School, Deputy J-2 for Innovation and Development Joint Forces Command, Deputy Commander for Submarine Squadron FOUR, Commanding Officer Naval Submarine School, the Chief of Staff for the Undersea Warfighting Development Center, and Commanding Officer Submarine Learning Center.
Captain Houdeshell earned a Master’s Degree in Engineering Acoustics from the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, CA and completed Joint Professional Military Education via the Command and General Staff Course in Leavenworth, KS, and the Joint Forces Staff College in Norfolk, VA.
Captain Houdeshell assumed the position as Professor of Naval Science for the Boston Consortium on March 21, 2022.
