Beginning this month, the National Science Foundation (NSF) will be requiring investigators to describe mentoring plans for graduate students funded on awards, similar to postdoctoral mentoring plans required previously. These requirements, described in the Proposal & Award Policies & Procedures Guide (NSF 24-1), will be in effect for all NSF proposals submitted on or after Monday, May 20.
In this workshop, Assistant Vice President and Assistant Provost for Research Development and PhD & Postdoctoral Affairs Sarah Hokanson and Associate Director for Research Development Claire Cordella will describe the new requirements, their implications for new NSF submissions or renewals, and the resources available to develop plans that meet federal requirements and support student mentees.
