“As a first-generation college student and woman of color, I didn’t really understand what careers in business looked like. Questrom has been great at giving me exposure to different fields and making me aware of all the opportunities available to me.”
Archi wanted a career in business, but she didn’t know what to study or where to start. The Questrom BS in Business Administration opened her eyes to a world of new opportunities.
“As a first-generation college student and woman of color, I didn’t really understand what careers in business looked like,” Archi says. “Questrom has been great at giving me exposure to different fields and making me aware of all the opportunities available to me.”
With a concentration in Finance and minor in Statistics, Archi is further exploring her business career options through internships. So far, she’s worked in private equity, financial technology, and consulting. Last summer, Archi went to London, where she interned at FinTech Global as a research analyst. “London was just an exceptional experience I’d been looking forward to since my freshman year,” she says. “It was actually one of the reasons I decided to come to BU. Turns out it was everything I wanted and more.”
This summer, Archi was a management consultant intern in New York with PwC’s mergers and acquisitions advisory practice. “I’ve been loving consulting because it’s a very fast-paced industry and every day is different,” she says. “So for now, I think I’m going to stick with deal advisory because it’s a busy field and there’s always something new to learn…or I might go into private industry with tech or media or possibly try government work—the opportunities are endless with consulting which is what I love most about it.”
In addition to internships, Archi is making the most of Questrom’s student clubs and activities. She’s a member of the Alpha Kappa Psi Professional Business Fraternity and several consulting clubs. She served as a teaching assistant for Business Statistics and Financial Markets, and worked at Questrom’s Undergraduate Academic and Career Center. She’s a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society and Questrom Ascend community for first-generation and underrepresented minorities.
“The school provides so many resources to learn, collaborate, and grow,” she says. “Whether you know exactly what you want to do in the future or have no clue where to begin (like me), Questrom will provide you with opportunities to network with professionals and connect you with awesome faculty.”
For students like her thinking about applying to Questrom, Archi says, “Don’t limit yourself. Once you’re on campus, sign up for classes on topics you’ve never heard of (you might find your newest passion); join any club that vaguely interests you; and reach out to people because the community at BU and Questrom are some of the kindest people I’ll ever meet.”
“THE SCHOOL PROVIDES SO MANY RESOURCES TO LEARN, COLLABORATE, AND GROW.”
