Heine Publishes New Book: “Xi-Na in the Century of the Dragon“

Ambassador Jorge Heine, Research Professor at Boston University’s Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies, has published a new book on China’s unprecedented economic and social progress titled Xi-na en el siglo del dragón. Lo que todos deben saber sobre China (Xi-Na in the Century of the Dragon: What Everyone Should Know About China). 

The publication was presented during a launch event hosted by the University of Chile’s Institute of International Studies (IEI) by CNN Chile journalist and political scientist Mónica Rincón; former Chilean Minister of State, Sergio Bitar; the Coordinator of the Chinese Studies Program of the IEI, Professor Andrés Bórquez. During the event, panelists discussed how Heine’s latest book not only offers an economic perspective and politics but also gives us the opportunity to get to know the Asian giant historically, culturally, and touristically.

Ambassador Jorge Heine is a Research Professor at the Pardee School of Global Studies at Boston University. He has served as ambassador of Chile to China (2014-2017), to India (2003-2007), and to South Africa (1994-1999), and as a Cabinet Minister in the Chilean Government.
