Heine Explores Evolving China-Russia Relations

Jorge Heine, Research Professor at Boston University’s Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies, published the lead piece in the July-September issue of Foreign Affairs Latinoamérica.

Heine co-authored the article, titled “China y Rusia: ¿nuevo eje autoritario o antigua entente cordial? (China and Russia: New Authoritarian Axis or Old Entente Cordiale?),” with Andrés Serbin, President of the Latin American and Caribbean think tank Coordinadora Regional de Investigaciones Económicas y Sociales (CRIES). In their article, the two argue that the new proximity between Beijing and Moscow – far from being an opportunistic “marriage of convenience” designed to irritate the West – has deep roots and is reconfiguring the Eurasian geopolitical space.
