Cognitive Neuroimaging Center

The Cognitive Neuroimaging Center (CNC) contains a brand-new, state-of-the-art Siemens 3 Tesla Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scanner, which will serve faculty from schools/colleges and departments across BU’s sprawling neuroscience community—and from other universities around Boston—who study the brain.

A Multidisciplinary Team

Within the CNC’s shielded walls, researchers across many disciplines can explore everything from the neural mechanisms for speech production to the long-term effects of head injuries sustained in contact sports to understanding how long- and short-term memory function. Their findings could be applied to such areas as Alzheimer’s disease and normal aging.
