Carroll Beauvais

Lecturer, KHC and CAS Writing Program

Before joining Kilachand, Carroll Beauvais taught in the Writing Program and has taught in Sargent and Questrom, as well as worked with Biomedical Engineering students on their capstones. Her pedagogical interests focus on intersectionality, expanding inclusion and accommodations to include strength-based supports, eschewing the traditional deficit model.

Her poems have appeared or are forthcoming in Prairie Schooner, Mid-American Review, Wisconsin Review, Delta Poetry Review, NELLE, and elsewhere. Her first book, Preverbal, a finalist for the Brittingham and Felix Pollack Poetry Prizes from the University of Wisconsin Press and a semi-finalist for Alice James Books’ Beatrice Hawley Prize, will be published by Lit Fox Books in June of 2025. She holds a MFA from Syracuse University and her writing has received support from Bread Loaf Writers’ Conference. She is currently working on a researched memoir about healthcare.
