  • The letter (1-2 pages) should be written by your internship supervisor/sponsor. Note that this is NOT a general recommendation letter. The letter should describe the internship, explain your fitness for the role from the organization's perspective, and explain their willingness and ability to support and supervise you. The letter should also explain why the organization is unable to fund your internship.
    I understand that I am responsible for explaining the letter requirements to my supervisor and ensuring that they email their letter directly to honors@bu.edu by the application deadline. This application form does not automatically request reference letters. I understand that my application will not be considered until my letter has been received.

  • I understand that the total stipend amount awarded will be dependent on the amount of hours selected on this form.

    I understand that all KIP awardees will participate in 6-8 required Zoom sessions throughout the summer, as well as an on-campus post-service celebration and reflection in September. I agree to participate fully in these sessions if I receive an award from KIP. I understand that I must fulfill all my awarded hours in order to receive funding. I assert that I have not received KIP funding in the past.
  • Required Essay Questions

    Each essay question has a maximum length of 4,000 characters (approximately 600 words)
  • All KIP interns participate in 6-8 required Zoom meetings throughout the summer, as well as an on-campus wrap-up meeting in September.
