PhD Candidate | 20th Century American History; historical memory, education, and Black intellectual history

Meredith is interested in the intersections of historical memory, education, and Black intellectual history. She researches history textbooks in Virginia in the twentieth century, with particular focus on the writing and publication process, as well as their role in segregated classrooms. She has also worked as a Research Assistant at the Center for Antiracist Research since 2021. Meredith entered the Boston University PhD program in 2020 after earning her BA in History and Public Policy from William & Mary. She is advised by Professor Nina Silber.
