Elizabeth Grumer received her BA from Bryn Mawr College and her MA from the University of Chicago. Her dissertation at BU, advised by Brooke Blower, is entitled “Midcentury Mysteries: British and American Paranormal Pursuits in the Modern Age.” The project is a transnational cultural history of popular interest in the paranormal during the
mid twentieth century. She studies both Britain and the United States, with a particular emphasis on gender, relationships, and the history of the family.
