Julia Barksdale (AIA, NOMA, ISAPD) is an Indigenous architect currently working at Utile in Boston. She received both her B.S. in 体系结构 and her M.Arch from Northeastern University. Their thesis explored typical housing typologies throughout Boston neighborhoods and how they may be reinvented to serve as co-housing sites with a construction system that can biodegrade in coordination with rising sea levels. Julia is passionate about affordable housing, mass timber construction, and land reclamation for native nations.
