What is Title IX?

Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 (“Title IX”) is a federal law that prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex, including sexual misconduct, on university campuses. Behaviors that may violate Title IX include sexual harassment or sexual violence, such as rape, sexual assault, stalking, dating or relationship violence, sexual exploitation, or retaliation.

Our office will respond promptly and effectively to address all reports of sexual harassment or sexual misconduct involving members of the campus community. The University provides confidential resources and options to support students, faculty, and staff.  We encourage those who have been impacted by or know someone who has been impacted by sexual harassment and/or other sexual misconduct to speak to the University Title IX Coordinator or Deputy Title IX Coordinators about the reporting options, resources, and support available.
