The Singh Imagineering Lab was made possible by a gift from Binoy K. Singh, M.D. (BME ’89), who, understanding the importance of real-world experiences on students, wanted students to have the resources needed to create innovations that help solve society’s grand challenges.

“There should be a place where students can take their own ideas, or those emerging from dorm room discussions, and get the guidance and support to make them real,” said Singh, who was inspired to become a cardiologist by the proliferation of innovations that were brought into the field and enabled more effective treatment of cardiovascular disease. “The Imagineering Lab reflects my own strong belief in the importance of enabling successful transitions from ideas and visions to solutions.”

Singh is currently Associate Chief of Cardiology at Lenox Hill Hospital/Lenox Hill Heart and Vascular at Yorktown in Yorktown Heights, New York and an Assistant Professor at Hofstra Northwell School of Medicine in Hempstead, New York. He is a member of the Dean’s Advisory Board of the College of Engineering and winner of the College’s 2011 Distinguished Alumni Award for Service to the Profession.
