Sean B. Andersson
Professor, ENG (ME, SE), ME Dept. Chair, Director of the MS in Robotics and Autonomous Systems
Sean B. Andersson is Professor of Mechanical Engineering and 系统工程 at Boston University, and Mechanical Engineering Department Chair. His research interests include control theory, robotics, and biophysics. His work brings to bear techniques from signal processing, estimation theory, and controls into diverse domains, developing new methodologies for information acquisition and analysis at scales ranging from the nanometer to the kilometer. While he seeks fundamental, theoretical results, he is particularly inspired by applying such results to real-world environments, whether for understanding the motion of individual biological macromolecules moving inside living cells or deploying robots in challenging, unstructured settings for persistent monitoring of local conditions.
