Supporting Students with Summer Internships
When neuroscience major Nzna Nguyen (CAS’26) secured an internship with Generation Teach, a non-for-profit that serves children of color in public schools, she wasn’t sure how she would afford housing for the summer.
Then she learned about the CAS Experiential Learning Connector’s new Summer Internship Support Program, which provided campus housing and a meal plan to a group of students with unpaid or low-paid internships.
Connecting Students with Chances to Learn Outside the Classroom
Audrey Johnson realized she wanted to change majors and needed help finding the right path. Rena Nurhussien, a first generation college student, sought advice about and insight into the science classes she would be taking. Both turned to the CAS Experiential Learning Connector, a new resource devoted to helping CAS students find experiential learning opportunities, for help.
Announcing Arts & Sciences in Action
We are thrilled to formally launch the Arts & Sciences Connector, a new resource center to empower undergraduate students to identify and access the many experiential learning opportunities available to them. The Connector is part of Arts & Science in Action, a strategic initiative within the 2030 Strategic Plan for Arts & Sciences to expand the range of exciting experiential learning opportunities available to our students;
A Road Map to CAS
Across countless extracurricular and cocurricular opportunities that include faculty-mentored research, the Hub cross-college challenge, student clubs, service learning, study abroad, entrepreneurship and hackerspaces, and internships, CAS presents students with myriad experiential opportunities. But with so many options, where to begin?
That’s why CAS is creating the Arts & Sciences Connector, a new resource to empower students to identify and access all that the college has to offer.
