How You Are Paid Through Workers’ Compensation
If you have a work related injury or illness and you are out of work, you are paid by a combination of your earned sick/vacation time, workers’ compensation and/or Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) as described in the chart shown below.
- Days 1-5 of your absence from work are paid through your earned sick and/or vacation time
- If you are approved, workers’ compensation will provide your pay.
- If you are out of work for more than 21 days, workers’ compensation will also pay for days 1-5 of your absence.
- If you are out of work for more than 3 days, you will be contacted by Human Resources about FMLA.
