PETAL is a unique new study that conducted entirely through a series of home visits. The study aims to investigate the language and social communication development of children with an older sibling with autism by monitoring and supporting their development with assessments by the research team and the introduction of two evidence-tested interventions: JASPER and Babble Bootcamp.
Who can participate?
- Children (6 to 8 months old) with an older sibling with autism living in MA
What does participation involve?
- A series of home visits from when your child is 6 to 24 months old
- Remote surveys and questionnaires
- Play-based assessments of language and cognitive development
- Participation in home-based interventions to support your child’s development
What will we receive for participating?
- A $40 gift card after each visit ($240 total)
- A developmentally appropriate book and toy for your child at each visit
