Oriol Carrasco

Oriol Carrasco is a PhD architect from Barcelona. He holds a senior fabrication expert position at IAAC, where he teaches in MAA and 3DPA programs. Collaborates also with UIC Barcelona, teaching building construction and computational design at the School of Architecture. Over the last few years, he has been focusing on research projects for architectural constructive systems. Considers himself passionate about computational design, prototyping of real-scale mock-ups, and novel fabrication methods. Has an extensive experience in composite manufacturing and the use of composite materials in architecture, where he even holds a patent on novel manufacturing methods.

He has been combining academia and engineering since 2005, collaborating with big firms for developing complex projects in Europe and South America. Since 2017,  he has been involved with the design to production team at Sagrada Familia, helping develop and fabricate the pieces of the Evangelists Towers.
