Doug DeNatale Elected to Two Major International Arts Management Organizations
Program Director Doug DeNatale has been recognized in recent months by his election to prominent roles in two major international arts management organizations.
In October, he was elected to the executive board of Social Theory, Politics, and the Arts (STP&A). STP&A is the oldest and one of the most influential academic gatherings of researchers and practitioners drawn from a range of disciplines, including political science, sociology, economics, law, arts management, arts education, and museum studies. STP&A is closely affiliated with the Journal of Arts Management, Law, and Society (JAMLS).
In November, DeNatale was elected to the board of directors for the European Network on Cultural Management and Policy (ENCATC). Founded in 1992, ENCATC is funded by the Creative Europe Program of the European Union to develop and influence cultural and education policies; enable cultural managers to work transnationally; represent and promote cultural management and cultural policy education; and create a platform for discussion and exchange at the European and international levels. DeNatale has participated in ENCATC since 2014, and succeeds Richard Maloney, a former MET Arts Administration faculty member, as the US representative to the ENCATC board.
