There are 3 comments on BU Scholarships Change the Lives of Boston Public Schools Graduates

  1. Great stories of Menino and Community Scholars. Particularly what hit home was one student asking her high school advisor about these scholarships and the counselor was not aware. The counselor made a comment that she was too ambitious. Same thing happened to me but not related to a scholarship. I just wanted to go to college. My advisor said it wasn’t possible. I was in the commercial course tract. Well I did go go college to “right” the “wrongs” in the field of education back in 1959. I graduated from BU, SED.

  2. As a student graduated from Boston public school and a student from lower class, I can say this article is definitely true. Boston University is very kind to students who graduate from Boston public schools, first generation college, and lower income families. To the students with such background, BU will always be there when the students need help. BU scholarships change my life a lot in a positive way, because I would have no way continue my education without taking massive loans. I am always grateful for the opportunity and willing to study hard. I want to become a better person and to help other people, so I can proudly tell others I go to school at BU.
