During the summer months, BU Today is revisiting some of the past year’s favorite stories. This week, we feature five from our weekly #TerrierTuesdays social media series, which focuses on students who are making an impact in, and out of, the classroom.
Meet Imani Roberson (COM’20). 来自风城的伊玛尼知道如何管理一个大城市。 当她来到波士顿参观波士顿大学时，她爱上了这个校园。 While she liked how free and independent she could be on campus, that didn’t stop her from calling her mom five times a day first semester of freshman year.
Imani is a public relations major with hopes of working in government communications. She’s already interned at the Mayor’s Office for Resilience and Racial Equity and works as the communications and outreach intern for BU’s City Planning and Urban Affairs program. She is involved with a bunch of different clubs on campus. Throughout her childhood, Imani sang in gospel choirs, and when she discovered the Inner Strength Gospel Choir, she couldn’t help but join. The choir quickly became her second family. She has also been an active member of @buprssa, where she currently is president.
When asked what advice she has for fellow Terriers, she said, “Just be grateful for the time we have here (the good, the bad, and ugly). It’s all preparing you for the next chapter. Life is short, and the four years we have here are even shorter, so make it count!”
