Gerard O’Neill (COM’70), above, and Stephen Kurkjian (CAS’66) were the first alumni to win the Pulitzer Prize in journalism.

In 1972, Gerard O’Neill (COM’70) and Stephen Kurkjian (CAS’66) became the first BU alumni to win the Pulitzer Prize in journalism. Since then, 20 BU alumni have earned a combined 30 Pulitzer Prizes in nearly every category of print journalism and photography.
