The Hodges-Simeon lab hosts a group of interdisciplinary social scientists that utilize biocultural perspectives to investigate how evolutionary, ecological, social, and cultural factors shape human psychology, physiology, development, and behavior. Theoretical frameworks employed within the lab include life history theory, cognitive and evolutionary psychology, behavioral ecology, and sexual selection, while research topics focus on evolutionary perspectives on signaling, competition, health, and hormones. Each member of the Hodges-Simeon lab brings a unique combination of strengths from Biology, Psychology, and Anthropology to foster a supportive and creative learning environment. Past and current research includes work on populations in Bolivia, Boston, China, Honduras, and Hong Kong.
