Lara Fuenmayor

Associate Vice President – School Development

Lara Brown de Fuenmayor joined Boston University as Assistant Vice President for School Development in March 2022. In her current role, she oversees strategy for the School-Based Development and Alumni Relations teams for BU’s 17 Schools and Colleges and directly manages the teams embedded within the College and Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, the Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine, and Questrom School of Business. Prior to this role, Lara was Assistant Dean for Advancement for North Carolina State University’s College of Natural Resources and President of the NC State Natural Resources Foundation. She previously served for 10 years as Assistant Dean for External Relations in the School of Public Policy at the University of Maryland, College Park. She has also held development positions at Johns Hopkins University and INSEAD.

Lara earned her B.A. in French Interdisciplinary Studies from Bryn Mawr College in Pennsylvania, and her Master’s in International Economics and Management from SDA Bocconi School in Milan, Italy.
