Alumni Help Desk
The BU Alumni Association is actively looking for passionate students who share a deep love for BU and are eager to engage with BU alumni worldwide through their involvement at the Alumni Help Desk. This invaluable opportunity offers students the chance to acquire practical work experience in customer service and event planning, while simultaneously serving as a pivotal hub for career benefits, reinforcing BU’s mission, and gaining insight into the significance of philanthropy. Here are a few of the responsibilities associated with this role:
- Assisting alumni with inquiries and providing exceptional customer service.
- Welcoming visitors at the Development & Alumni Relations Office on the 7th floor of Questrom and at the Dahod Family Alumni Center at the Castle.
- Building event registration pages and tracking attendance for BU events around the world.
- Conducting research for alumni in the news.
- Staffing special events like Alumni Weekend and senior events like Step on the Seal at graduation.
- Facilitating alumni-student networking through platforms like LinkedIn and BU Connects.
Qualifications
- Solid written and verbal communication skills
- The desire to connect with the BU community in an enthusiastic and professional manner
- Multi-tasking and time management skills
- An ability to commit a minimum of 2 shifts per week (Monday to Friday between 9 am–5 pm.)
