Everyone had a favorite place to grab a piece of slice on campus. Whether you needed a quick bite between classes or a late-night meal during a study session, BU’s campus had options for every taste. We asked Terriers to vote for their favorite pizza places near campus in a head-to-head tournament-style bracket. The results, as delicious as they are, might surprise you!

Otto, Blaze Pizza, Regina Pizzeria, Domino’s, University Grill, and T. Anthony’s faced off on @BUalumni’s Instagram story to see who would be crowned the Terrier Favorite. Round one saw some close battles, but only three of the six competitors moved on to the finals.

Round One

Otto vs. Blaze Pizza

Blaze Pizza was the fastest-growing pizza brand of 2016 and made its way onto West Campus in 2017, replacing BurgerFi. But even the promise of blazingly fast service (Blaze Pizza promises made-to-order pizzas in under 180 seconds) couldn’t overthrow Otto. The Maine pizza company has become a staple on campus and in neighboring Coolidge Corner and beat out Blaze with a 38-point lead.

Regina Pizzeria vs. Domino’s

While Domino’s has the benefit of speedy delivery and the option to pay using dining points as a part of BU’s dining plans, Regina Pizzeria was once the go-to spot for Allston residents off-campus. A local pizza co. with its original location in Boston’s North End, Regina’s is a favorite for many Bostonians. While the company recently closed its Allston location, Terriers handed Regina Pizzeria a first-round victory 46 points ahead of its competition.

T. Anthony’s vs. University Grill

T. Anthony’s is, to many Terriers, the place for pizza on campus. Located conveniently across the street from Agganis Arena, it has been a go-to spot for the BU community for years. While University Grill’s location is right in the heart of campus and their offer of inexpensive “Super Slices” is compelling, it wasn’t enough to sway T. Anthony’s loyalists, who handed the pizza spot an easy victory with 91% of all round one votes.

Round Two: The Finals

Our second and final round of voting put Otto, Regina Pizzeria, and T. Anthony’s head-to-head (to head). The competition was fierce, and the pizza was delicious, but one pulled ahead of the rest. With 61% of all votes, the winner was clear—T. Anthony’s has been crowned BU pizza royalty!
