180 Degrees Consulting is the world’s largest student-run consultancy, dedicated to helping nonprofits and social enterprises improve their services, expand their reach, and ultimately maximize their impact. We are a team of motivated, enterprising students from diverse academic backgrounds, united by our passion to make a difference. 180 DC associates not only gain practical experience and firsthand exposure to Boston’s social enterprises but also receive professional training from major consulting firms, including McKinsey, PwC, and Deloitte. The Accounting Association bridges the gap between the academic and professional worlds. For over 10 years, AdClub has grown and we have become masters of our craft, continuously pushing ourselves and our work to be the best. ALPFA
ALPFA, founded in 1972, stands for the Association of Latino Professionals for America. ALPFA is a national nonprofit organization that has become the largest Latino association for business professionals and students, with more than 90,000 members nationwide (this includes 43 professional and over 150 student chapters). ALPFA serves as the catalyst connecting professionals with decisionmakers at Fortune 1000 partners and other corporate members seeking diverse opportunities. In addition, ALPFA has developed various events at a local and national level to prepare students from college to career-ready professionals through mentorship, leadership training and development, job placement, and community volunteerism. Boston University Cyber Security Association
Boston University’s Cyber Security Association (CyS) strives to raise awareness on the value of cyber-aware leadership in the cyber industry, foster a constructive community for students passionate about the role of cybersecurity in today’s organizations, and help those who want to learn more about the field and the impact it will have on organizations in every industry and economic sector. Boston University Finance & Investment Club (BUFC) is an interactive, team-oriented group focused on mentoring its members from their first year of college to their first year on the job. Delta Phi Epsilon is a foreign affairs and international business professional fraternity aimed at cultivating the next generation of global leaders. Entrepreneurship Club is an organization for students of all backgrounds and majors to become engaged with entrepreneurship. Fashion and Retail Association
The Fashion and Retail Association is BU’s only organization committed to connecting students to the competitive fashion and retail industry. This is a multifaceted, complex industry, which includes the areas of e-commerce, operations & supply chain, marketing, data analytics, buying and merchandising, design, and many more. FinTech Club
FinTech BU stands to raise awareness of, and opportunities for the Boston University community in, the new and exciting field of financial technologies—as well as in the wave of disruptive technologies that the finance world is experiencing. We aim to integrate FinTech BU and its members with the world of financial technologies through partnerships with universities, companies, and other fintech-related institutions. This initiative will be supported through info sessions, guest speaker lectures, annual conferences, and the BU FinTech Accelerator. Guerrilla Marketing Society (GMS)
Guerrilla Marketing Society (GMS) provides marketing consulting services to local businesses by offering them a marketing campaign plan for their business specifically using guerrilla marketing tactics. Our past partnerships include Expedia, Lady M, the Chicken and Rice Guys, Finimize, Platejoy, and more. The mission of GMS is to contribute to the education of BU students through hands-on experience and weekly workshops. The Health & Life Sciences Club strives to expose students to the various fields of the health and life sciences industry. The club brings together students of different educational backgrounds, i.e., pre-med students and finance majors, to promote a holistic understanding of the healthcare industry through active discussion of current healthcare issues. LOCK Honorary Service Society
The LOCK Honorary Service Society is the oldest student organization at Questrom and was founded in 1924 by Professor Charles Stratton and Lyman Phillips on the belief that those who have the privilege of scholarship must share what they have gained. LOCK members fulfill that responsibility by providing their peers with tutoring in many required Questrom courses and through other community service initiatives. Membership in LOCK is by invitation only.
Music Business Club
The Boston University Music Business Club exposes students to the ins and outs of the music industry. MBC teaches students professional industry skills and enables them to collaborate with other music lovers to market for local student artists. Students can attend various workshops specialized in developing skills such as music composition, marketing, and creative direction. MBC also facilitates industry and alumni guest speaker panels. Questrom Korean is a student organization established to provide professional development and networking opportunities to Korean students in Questrom, and to promote a deeper understanding of the global business environment. Questrom Student Government
Student Government plans educational, community service, and social activities for the Questrom undergraduate community and acts as a liaison between students and the administration. Social Impact Fellowship
The Social Impact Fellowship is designed to build a community of learners and activists in the field of social impact. The fellowship consists of a collection of activities and resources strung together to create learning experiences and professional opportunities. Fellowship requirements include intellectual enrichment through learning opportunities focused on social impact topics, completing academic contact relevant to a social impact topic, career exploration, professional networking, and mentorship. The fellowship is aimed at first- and second-year students at Questrom School of Business interested in learning more about careers in social impact. Sports Business Club
The Boston University Sports Business Club serves as an outlet to learn more about and participate in the business of sports. We host general meetings, a guest speaker series, networking events, and more. TAMID Group
The TAMID Group is a nonprofit organization that develops the professional skills of undergraduate students through hands-on interaction with the Israeli economy. TAMID integrates the next generation of entrepreneurs and business professionals with Israel through a comprehensive education curriculum, pro bono consulting for Israeli startups, capital market investment research, and a summer internship program in Israel. The Adam Smith Society is an expansive, chapter-based association of MBA students, alumni, and business leaders who believe in capitalism and the open exchange of ideas. Our influential network of 9,000+ members is dedicated to preserving and strengthening the free-market economy.
Asia Business Club
The Asia Business Club aims to provide networking opportunities for our members so that they may exchange information, share experiences, and discover new opportunities through their new contacts. Our goal is to engage the Asian business community within the Boston area to share experiences, knowledge, contacts, and opportunities. We strive to provide a forum for discussion about business relevant to all regions of Asia.
Business Technology Club
The Business Technology Club’s purpose is twofold: to improve the student experience, opportunities for learning, professional networking, and internship and career prospects of MBA/MSDT dual majors, and to organize events related to business technology that can offer value to all Questrom graduate students.
Cohort Cup
The Cohort Cup is the BU Questrom School of Business’s annual competition among the full-time MBA cohorts. It provides social and competitive outlets for students, ranging from sports tournaments to the annual talent show. Most importantly, it builds community and allows students to get to know their classmates outside of an academic setting.
Cohort Q
Cohort Q is the LGBTQ student organization for Questrom School of Business. Our mission is to connect LGBTQ students and allies by providing networking and social opportunities, a forum to discuss LGBTQ issues in the workplace, and a community of support for LGBTQ students.
Consulting Club
The Consulting Club is dedicated to educating students about current trends and best practices in the consulting industry and about consulting as a career choice. We aim to ensure that Questrom graduate students can gain access to careers at consulting firms of their choice by helping to develop the necessary skill sets needed to succeed in the consulting industry.
Energy & Sustainability Club
The BU Energy & Sustainability Club aims to synthesize energy and environmental sustainability-related ideas from a multidisciplinary stream of educational and professional sources to advance understanding of energy/sustainability and its role within society, industry, technology, and policy through empirical, objective energy-related education and outreach.
Entrepreneurship & Innovation Club
The Graduate Entrepreneurship & Innovation Club aims to empower student entrepreneurs and innovators by providing resources, networking opportunities, and events focused on entrepreneurial thought and action in businesses big and small.
Graduate Finance & Investment Club
Operating through two arms—the finance club and the investment committee—the Graduate Finance & Investment Club (GFIC) is Questrom’s one-stop shop for providing students with the skills, resources, and network to succeed in the financial services industry across various functions and sectors.
Health Sector Management Club
The Health Sector Management (HSM) Club is the organization for all students interested in healthcare delivery, health IT, life sciences, and biotechnology. We organize professional and educational events and keep a pulse on the Boston healthcare scene to connect members with opportunities outside of the University.
Internship Fund
Since 2013, the Internship Fund aims to mobilize the Questrom MBA community to fund students pursuing career-accelerating internships that create a lasting social impact. Through awareness-building events and fundraising efforts, we generate possibilities for students to consider and pursue essential work, regardless of financial barriers.
Latin American MBA Association
The Latin American MBA Association (LAMBA) seeks to foster a space for open dialogue for all individuals interested in the emerging markets of Latin America, as well as the increasingly important Hispanic marketplaces and issues regarding Latin America in the United States. LAMBA seeks to share our cultural heritage and embrace our diversity as a business advantage and enable the creation of a network of graduate students and US and Latin American businesspeople for the purpose of sharing knowledge and building long-term relationships.
Leadership and Organizational Transformation Club
The mission of LOT is to increase the sense of community for all MBA students enrolled in and interested in leadership and organizational transformation, as well as organizational behavior more generally; LOT will strive to provide educational, professional networking, and social opportunities to all members. In the same way a modern day HR department focuses on enhancing the community around the company’s biggest asset (its people), LOT will focus on diversity and inclusion initiatives, as well as personal leadership and organizational development initiatives, to enhance the community around one of the University’s biggest assets—its students.
Marketing Club
The Marketing Club is open to all Questrom graduate students who are interested in all things marketing! We focus on marketing in all senses, from internal decisionmaking informed by data analytics to consumer-facing storytelling through branding, social media, and creative communications. To us, marketing can be defined beyond what it means in a traditional sense and plays an important role throughout an organization, not limited to one department. We are dedicated to promoting the discipline of marketing and assisting our members with how the development of marketing skills can lead to a fulfilling, engaged career. To achieve this, the club plans a series of events each semester, including panels, treks, and other networking opportunities, for insight into all variations within the marketing profession.
Mathematical Finance Club
The Math Finance Club connects the studious minds of the quantitative finance realm to its respective corporate leaders of the finance industry and keeps its members up-to-date with the most recent quantitative techniques and computational tools and technologies through conferences, showcases, speaker panels, and presentations.
Questrom Doctoral Association
The aim of the Questrom Doctoral Association (QDA) is to foster a community of support for doctoral students in Questrom School of Business. Additionally, we will seek to provide an environment wherein a community of scholars interested in interdisciplinary research and learning can develop.
Questrom Graduate Council
The Questrom Graduate Council is a body of representatives that full-time and part-time Boston University Questrom School of Business graduate students elect each year to work on their behalf with the school administration and other stakeholders. The QGC plans and executes large-scale student events, ensures that student funds are allocated appropriately to student organizations, and performs a number of other behind-the-scenes tasks to make sure everyone’s experience as a Questrom School of Business student is as valuable as it can be.
Questrom Graduate Students of the African Diaspora
Questrom Graduate Students of the African Diaspora (GSAD) is an all-inclusive group open to all Questrom graduate students. The mission of the club is to bring representation to Questrom graduate students of the African Diaspora and to host events that stimulate discussions related to this population in the US and around the world while having fun. The club also encourages the participation of those who may not be of African descent but have an interest in, and want to gain an understanding of, the African Diaspora.
Questrom Uncorked
Questrom Uncorked seeks to add value to the Questrom community by offering students and faculty a structured forum to taste, learn, and discuss styles, production, and culture of wine. Our goal is to contribute to a more well-rounded and holistic Questrom experience that includes academic excellence, cultural diversity, and personal enrichment.
Social Impact and Nonprofit Club
The Social Impact and Nonprofit Club (SINC) is a student-run organization that enhances the Social Impact Program curriculum, fosters community dialogue around social impact and social justice, and increases awareness of how students can use business fundamentals to create social value. Through panels, networking, social events, and other activities, the club seeks to prepare students to be socially minded leaders in both the public and private sectors.
Sports & Social Club
The Sports & Social Club organizes and hosts a variety of events involving competitive and intramural sports, group fitness, sports management, and social activities in order to form a collaborative and diverse community, to provide networking opportunities, and, most importantly, to have fun.
Strategy Club
The Questrom Strategy Club is focused on supporting those in the Strategy concentration or strategy career pathways, and on creating opportunities for all Questrom graduate students to learn about and engage with different strategy industries, fields, and roles.
Veterans Club
The Questrom Veterans Club is aimed at creating support and camaraderie for Questrom student-veterans. Military service is an uncommon experience that is best understood by those who have worn a uniform. It is important for veterans to remain connected to other veterans, not only as part of their transition to civilian life or student life, but also to maintain a sense of belonging to a group that can best understand their experiences. Through networking events, volunteer work, and awareness-raising events, the club will help our student-veterans connect with the greater veteran community of Boston and enhance their time as students at Questrom.
Women’s MBA Association
The Women’s MBA Association extends career guidance and support to women currently in the MBA, MSMS, and MSMF programs through: providing access to professional women leaders in different industries who possess a wide range of interests and have built successful careers; educating members about career management, career advancement, and networking; finding mentors and leadership opportunities within and around the Questrom School of Business and Boston University; actively participating within the community; establishing a solid relationship among students, alumni, faculty, and women in the Greater Boston area, including MBA students from neighboring schools; and uniting men and women in addressing issues surrounding women’s advancement in the workplace.
